The construction for this piece arose from the challenge to create a promotional direct-mail calendar that could ship flat, and still be able to unfold and assemble into a 3-dimensional piece once unpacked.
Two flat pieces of diecut & scored coreboard join together to create this dimesnional interlocking quarterly desk calendar. Vibrant pops of orange, aquamarine, and hints of sunny yellows were chosen to evoke a festive feel of summertime fun.
Abstract 3D Glasses
These abstract art 3D glasses were created by using irregular shapes for the lenses, as opposed to the rectangular shape seen with traditional 3D anaglyph frames. As a result of its abstract design, viewers get to enjoy their 3D viewing experience while sporting a pair of artsy glasses.
Super Hero Condom Pouches
Due to the negative perceptions surrounding their use, HIV-prevention programs often struggle with making condoms appear sexy and cool.
In an effort to alter social attitudes and encourage the frequent use of them, these matchbox-sized pouches were designed, providing a trendy and discrete solution for carrying condoms. On the exterior, the pouches are wrapped with halftone-patterned paper that was inspired by vintage comic books. To create the effect of foil-stamped debossing, the heroic emblems were then hand-cut from metallic foil paper and adhered to the front of the carrying pouches.
NIKE SHOE RISER CONCEPT
Create a retail display centered around Nike’s new line of LunarGlide shoes, that utilizes an unconventional and unique structural approach.
Inspired by origami folding techniques, this polygonal shoe riser was constructed out of corrugated material and incorporates an accordian-like top half that allows it to expand and contract on the top. To imitate the irridescent shimmer of the material on the Lunar Glide shoes, the surface of the display was mounted with a metallic liner which was then printed with the same mesh texture found on the shoes.
For this project, the idea was to provide a sleeker design for the existing Xacto packaging, that also addresses concerns for safe use. Taking inspiration from construction graphics, the package uses construction stripes and tones of bright yellows and black to invoke cautiousness. A set of Xacto blades also comes supplied on a perforated sheet that makes them easy to handle without the risk of injury. In addition, the perforated strips function as disposable slips for discarding used blades.
Sprinkles Cupcake Box
This was a custom-designed Sprinkles cupcake box. The exterior was skinned with a geometric, chocolate & creme wrapping paper, and the interior of the box was lined with metallic gold poster board.
